101. Titanium white

Titanium White is an oil paint based on titanium dioxide, with a bright, clean white hue. It has excellent covering power and very strong tinting strength. Compared with Zinc White, it lightens mixtures more quickly and intensely, significantly altering the original colour. Thanks to its dense, opaque consistency, it is ideal for solid layers and bold light accents. It is particularly effective for dense light passages, bright highlights, impasto techniques, body colour work, and mixing rich lighter tones. It typically dries at a moderate rate and leaves a finish ranging from matt to slightly satin. It is a versatile white suitable for most oil painting techniques.
