219. Naples yellow light

Naples Light Yellow is an oil paint with a soft, warm light yellow hue with a subtle creamy undertone. Thanks to the presence of both Titanium White and Zinc White in the blend, it offers excellent covering power and a gentle tinting strength, allowing mixtures to be lightened and softened delicately without dramatically altering their character. Compared with more saturated yellow pigments, its tone appears more muted, natural, and well balanced. It is particularly well suited to painting warm highlights, sunlit reflections, flesh tones, atmospheric transitions, pastel shades, and subtle colour modelling. It performs especially well in classical multilayer painting, body colour work, underpainting, and modelling of form. It typically dries at a moderate rate and leaves a finish ranging from matt to slightly satin. It is a versatile shade for creating soft, warm, and natural colour harmonies.
