272. Bismuth Yellow
Bismuth Yellow is a bright, clean yellow with a distinctly cool, slightly greenish undertone. Compared with Strontium Yellow, it is more transparent and has an even cooler colour character, making it particularly well suited to creating fresh, luminous mixtures.
The paint is semi-opaque, with moderately high tinting strength, allowing for confident control over colour intensity in mixtures. It spreads evenly across the surface, and its rich consistency makes it equally suitable for creating smooth glazed transitions, retaining expressive brushstrokes, or working in an impasto technique. Ideal for bright, clean yellow highlights, as well as for mixing greens, oranges, complex neutrals, and muted tones when combined with violet pigments.
