329. Naples orange yellow

Naples Orange Yellow is an oil paint with a soft, warm orange-yellow hue with a delicate golden-cream undertone. Thanks to the presence of both Titanium White and Zinc White in the blend, it offers excellent covering power and a gentle tinting strength, allowing mixtures to be lightened and warmed subtly without dramatically altering their character. Compared with more saturated orange and yellow pigments, its tone appears more muted, natural, and well balanced. It is particularly well suited to painting sunlit highlights, warm reflections, golden passages in landscapes, flesh tones, pastel shades, and subtle colour modelling. It performs especially well in classical multilayer painting, body colour work, underpainting, and modelling of form. It typically dries at a moderate rate and leaves a finish ranging from matt to slightly satin. It is a versatile shade for creating warm, soft, and natural colour harmonies.
