348. Red deep

Red Deep is a semi-transparent oil colour with a rich, warm red hue offering greater depth and intensity than Red Light. Its strong, full-bodied character makes it particularly effective for depicting rich drapery, autumn foliage, flowers, ripe fruit and bold colour accents. The semi-transparent nature of the colour is well suited to glazing, smooth tonal transitions and gradually building depth within a painting. It mixes cleanly with yellows, oranges, browns, blues and whites, producing a broad range of warm reds, burgundy tones and rich terracotta mixtures. Its smooth, even consistency provides excellent handling with both brush and palette knife, whether establishing broad areas of colour or refining smaller details. The balanced drying time across the entire range means less time waiting and more time painting, experimenting with colour and developing practical skills through regular practice. Well suited to portraiture, still life, landscape and contemporary painting.
