605. Violet light

Violet Light is a semi-transparent oil colour with a delicate, cool lilac-pink hue that combines softness with refined clarity. It is particularly well suited to depicting blossom, evening and dawn skies, delicate clouds, atmospheric perspective and subtle cool highlights. Its semi-transparent nature makes it especially effective for glazing, smooth tonal transitions and gradually building luminous layers of paint. When mixed with white, it produces clean lavender, lilac and cool pink-lilac tints, while combinations with blues, pinks, reds and greys create a broad range of cool violet and muted colour mixtures. Its smooth, even consistency provides excellent control with both brush and palette knife, allowing artists to regulate colour intensity and achieve refined transitions with ease.
